Alan L. Schwartz, PsyD is a clinical psychologist and the Behavioral Science Faculty for the Family Medicine Residency Program at ChristianaCare Health System, a large non-profit health system in Delaware. His clinical work is in primary care behavioral health (PCBH) as a behavioral health consultant at the Family Medicine Center at Foulk Road, a practice serving a diverse population in Wilmington. Dr. Schwartz earned his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Institute for Graduate Clinical Psychology at Widener University. He has expertise in individual psychotherapy with a specialization in treating mood, anxiety, and sleep disorders. His eclectic approach to treatment reflects his experience in providing many types of psychotherapy. His training includes cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and psychodynamic, supportive-expressive, insight-oriented therapy. He uses empirically-supported treatments including CBT, behavioral approaches to sleep improvement (CBT-I), mindfulness based stress-reduction, exposure-based treatments, and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) for trauma. He is licensed to practice in Delaware and Pennsylvania. He is a Fellow of the Society for Personality Assessment. He is a consultant for the Federal Aviation Association (FAA) and assesses air traffic control candidates. He is a member of the American Psychological Association, Society for Behavioral Sleep Medicine, Collaborative Family Healthcare Association and Delaware Psychological Association. Dr. Schwartz has a private practice in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania, specializing in psychological testing, personality and psychoeducational assessment, pre-employment, and fitness for duty evaluations for law enforcement, aviation professionals and other high-risk personnel.
