Membership Categories

Fellow Member - $225/year

A Fellow Member shall support the mission and purposes of the SBSM and be active in behavioral sleep medicine clinical care, education and/or research.

A Fellow member,

a) holds a professional degree (e.g., doctoral degree or a terminal master’s degree) that is eligible for licensure and/or independent clinical practice in a health care related field,
b) A Regular Member has the following voting privileges:

a. 1. Vote for members to be elected to the Board of Directors
b. 2. Vote on proposed changes to the bylaws

c) Maintains a membership in the SBSM for last five consecutive years
d) Demonstration of special contributions to scientific literature or advancements in the field of BSM education of health professionals on a local, regional, national, or international level.

a. Evidence of contribution to public health
b. Advocating for increased awareness of BSM
c. Integration of innovative access to BSM

e) Attendance at 5 annual meetings within the past 7 years

Full Members - $175/year

A Full Member shall support the mission and purposes of the SBSM and be active in behavioral sleep medicine clinical care, education and/or research.

A Full member,

a) holds a professional degree (e.g., doctoral degree or a terminal master’s degree) that is eligible for licensure and/or independent clinical practice in a health care related field,

b) holds a doctoral degree and is active in BSM research, or

c) holds a doctoral degree and is a Diplomat of the American Board of Sleep Medicine. A Full Member pays annual dues set by the Board of Directors and receives subscriptions to publications owned or operated by SBSM and receives all other member benefits.

A Full Member has the following voting privileges:

1. Vote for members to be elected to the Board of Directors

2. Vote on proposed changes to the bylaws

Student Members with Subscription - $66/year

Membership dues plus print and online subscription to Behavioral Sleep Medicine - $66

Individuals in fulltime training programs which lead to a degree (Bachelor, Masters, Doctorate). Student membership may be extended for a period of one (1) year provided the student is in a post-doctoral program or residency (internship). Student members may elect to pay an additional fee for the SBSM publications.

Student members have the following voting privileges:

1. Vote for the student representative to the Board of Directors

Student Members - $50/year

Student members have the following voting privileges:

Emeritus Members - $87.50/year

Members (i.e., full or Fellow members) who have retired qualify for this membership category. Emeritus members pay 50% of the current regular membership fee. Members receive subscriptions to publications owned or operated by SBSM and receive all other member benefits. Emeritus members will not be on the "Find a BSM Provider" list on the website.

Emeritus members have the following voting privileges:

1. Vote for members to be elected to the Board of Directors

2. Vote on proposed changes to the bylaws
