Vargas, Ivan
Dr. Ivan Vargas is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of Notre Dame. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Behavioral Sleep Medicine Program and the Center for Sleep and Circadian Neurobiology at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He also received a PhD in Psychology (Clinical Science) from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Vargas' research broadly examines: 1) the etiology and pathophysiology of insomnia, especially as it relates to stress and HPA-axis functioning; 2) the impact of insomnia on other psychological and physical health outcomes, such as depression and cardiometabolic functioning; and 3) behavioral interventions for sleep (e.g., cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia).
